You must keep these things in your mind before you start migrating from QuickBooks desktop to online.

  • Backup your company file

  • Update QuickBooks Desktop

  • At the bottom of the product information page, you must press CTRL+B+Q and click the OK button while your product information window opens.

If you track inventory in QuickBooks Desktop:

  • You will have to select Yes and then specify the starting date.

  • If you will set up new items in QuickBooks later, select No.

  • Once the conversion is done, we'll mail you a confirmation message. Open your email and click the Complete your setup button.

  • Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.

  • Choose the company file you want to open.

  • Enable both Track quantity and price/rate and Track inventory quantity on hand.
